Carter's Golden Birthday

Carter turned 7 on the 7th so some call it his Golden Birthday. This one was hard for both of us. I was not there for this birthday and although I was there on days before and after with my travel back to visit I wasn't there on the actual day and it was sad for both of us. I won't ever be away for another birthday.

W.L. Gore & Associates Day 1

I began work at W.L. Gore and Associates today. I am working as a Consultant on a contract to hire basis for 6 months. With the separation from my family I hope and pray that I can get a Associate status in less than 6 months and get my family moved out here soon. I'll be flying home every couple of weeks but for now I'll be away from them more than I'm with them.

I will use Skype to video conference with them each night. We can have family home evening and read scripture this way and at least do what we can for closeness.

Why do they call them Hoods?

That deep blue color, the soft velvet material, the hoods were everything I imagined they would be. Of course the MBA was a great accomplishment but I remember when I got my bachelor's degree how cool I thought the Graduate Students hoods were. So glad I got one of my own.

I also sang America the Beautiful and For the Beauty of the Earth at convocation. I should put a video of that on here. I can do that can't I?

2 years of hard work finally paying off. What a journey it was.

My wife should have been given a Master's Degree for her support. She has been so encouraging and supportive. I never would have been able to do it without her help. She is the best friend anyone could ever ask for and a wonderful wife and mother.
